The Missouri City Police Department was busy the morning of Saturday, December 16, 2017 putting smiles on the faces of children. Officers took a group of 50 underprivileged children on a holiday shopping spree at the Target store on Highway 6. Each child was given $150 to shop for toys, clothes and shoes. This event not only provided students an opportunity to do a little Christmas shopping, but they also had the chance to interact with the police officers and community leaders. After taking a few group photos at the store entrance, the students eagerly pushed their shopping carts into the store. Officers and Brothers of Rho Xi Chapter helped the children search for gifts and pushed carts. Most of the children headed immediately toward the toys section.
