Developing stronger connections between senior citizens and their community can have tremendous benefits for young men. Seniors with serious memory loss or cognitive limitations can still enjoy a visit, even if they have no recollection of it later. Middle school aged children often value the opportunity to make a difference in an older person’s life. Adolescent children are eager to help in an assisted living home once they become comfortable. They learn how to interact with people different than themselves and they learn responsibility. Mentees of Project Manhood and the Brothers of Rho Xi Chapter, led by Bro. Del Shon Waller and Bro. Michael Guillory, visited Quail Valley Assisted Living Home in Missouri City, TX on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017. The mentees made Mother’s Day cards for all the women at the facility, which the recipients were very happy to receive.
