Teachers are very awesome. Unfortunately, their classroom supply budgets are not. Rather than let their students go without basics supplies, such as pencils and notebook paper, many teachers spend their own money on school supplies for their classrooms. Teachers spend an average of $500 a year buying school supplies for their classrooms, with some even spending thousands. Teachers cannot continue to carry this burden alone because the reality is the average annual salary for kindergarten, elementary and high school teachers is only $56,747. Most teacher salaries are significantly lower. On September 12, 2017 the Brothers of Rho Xi Chapter partnered with the Quail Valley Senior Living Residence to donate school supplies to the students at Missouri City Middle School that were affected by Hurricane Harvey.
