Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has long engaged communities with meaningful parenting and mentoring programs across the United States. With the historical partnership Omega Psi Phi has had with the Obama Administration, the Fraternity’s work under the Fatherhood Initiative and Mentoring Program continue to be vital. The Fraternity must persevere in increasing the awareness of the importance of responsible fatherhood and expand their partnerships with as many like-minded community organizations, public agencies, schools and advocates of responsible parenting. We must work to solve the problem of paternal absenteeism, deconstruct negative stereotypes and celebrate those who are engaged in their children’s lives, the children in their families and the children of their communities. Children are the future! The future is only as bright as what parents invest in children – all children, not just those related by blood, so that they can be a light to this world. On June 24, 2017 the Brothers of Rho Xi Chapter supported Rho Nu Educational and Community Foundation’s 3rd Annual Daddy and Daughter Dance, which is a celebration of fathers and daughters. The proceeds benefit the Rho Nu Educational and Community Foundation’s mission of providing Galveston area high school seniors with scholarships to assist with the expense of attending college. Rho Nu Educational and Community Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to education, social and community resources for adults and children of all ages.
